Inkster Man Charged in Annapolis Circle Fatal Stabbing
On May 14, 2022, at approximately 9:17 p.m., Inkster police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 30050 block of Annapolis Circle in Inkster for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim in the kitchen with a kitchen knife in his upper left abdomen. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced to victim deceased.
It is alleged that on May 14, 2022, Defendant Barnes stabbed the victim, fatally injuring him. It is also alleged that the defendant stabbed the victim's dog, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Inkster Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on May 15, 2022. The warrant request was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office in late May.
On Saturday, May 28t, 2022, Jason Edward Barnes was charged with one count of Premeditated First-Degree Murder. * Today WCPO has been informed that Barnes was arraigned and remanded to jail on June 1, 2022, in 22nd District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 8, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Sabrina Johnson. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Inkster Police Department.
