Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Sara Vae Boles, 36, (DOB: 10/14/1985), of Inkster, in connection with the child abuse of her one-year-old son and three-year-old daughter.

On January 1, 2022, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Inkster police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 29520 block of Grandview Street in Inkster for a welfare check on the defendant and her children. Upon their arrival, officers heard a child crying inside of the residence. Due to exigent circumstances the officers forced entry and located the defendant in the bathroom of the home kneeling over her injured children. The children had neck lacerations and a knife was observed in the bathtub. The defendant was arrested at the scene. Both children were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that Defendant Boles used a knife to cut both children at their necks.

Sara Vae Boles has been charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, two counts of First-Degree Child Abuse, and one count of Resisting and Obstructing. *

She was arraigned this morning in 22nd District Court and given a $100,00 cash bond. Her Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for January 12, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in 22nd District Court before Judge Sabrina Johnson. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Inkster Police Department.
