Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Cinamon Charmaine Rigmaiden, 31, of Livonia, in connection with the arson of a Detroit home that killed Tina Dorrough,53, and injured a 57-year-old man, and a 65-year-old woman, all of Detroit. Defendant Rigmaiden had recently broken up with Ms. Dorrough's adult son. He was not in the house at the time of the fire.

On June 3, 2024, at approximately 11:17 p.m., it is alleged that Defendant Rigmaiden poured an accelerant on the front porch of the victims' home located in the 6000 block of Seminole Street in Detroit, before setting the occupied home on fire and fleeing the scene. Members of the Detroit Fire Department and the Hamtramck Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced Ms. Dorrough deceased. The two surviving victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Defendant Rigmaiden was arrested by the Livonia Police Department and turned over to the Detroit Police Department on June 4, 2024.

Cinamon Charmaine Rigmaiden has been charged with one count of Felony Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, three counts of First-Degree Arson, and one count of Third-Degree Arson. *

"Since when is the solution in the breakup of a relationship setting fire to an occupied house? The alleged actions of the defendant in this case are beyond reprehensible. As a result, there were three innocent victims. A woman has died and two people that were seriously injured," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

Rigmaiden was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 36th District Court before Magistrate William Burton. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 14, 2024, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for June 21, 2024, before Judge Kenneth King.
