Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Darnell Rayshawn Hall, 29 (DOB:07/27/1990), of Detroit, in connection with the murder of his female friend Porcha E. Wheeler, 27, of New York, New York.

On February 7, 2020, Detroit police officers were dispatched to Hall's apartment in the 1600 block of Antietam in Detroit. The officers observed Ms. Wheeler inside the apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased by medics who arrived at the scene. The defendant was present and arrested by officers at the scene.

On the afternoon of February 10, 2020, Hall was charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. * He arraigned was remanded to jail by Magistrate Joseph Boyer on the same day. He received a Probable Cause Conference on February 24, 2020 at 8:30 a.m., and a Preliminary Examination date of March 2, 2020 at 1:30 p.m., both before Judge Lynise Weekes in 36th District Court.
