Man Charged in Two Murders in River Rouge
On January 30, 2020, the defendant entered a house on the 500 block of Beechwood in River Rouge where he shot three people, killing two. The defendant has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and five counts of Felony Firearm.* Mr. Brown was not in custody at the time the charges were issued and was taken into custody today. Information regarding arraignment is not available at this time.
WCPO has received warrant requests from the Detroit Police Department regarding Kenyel Brown. The request regarding a February 22, 2020 incident on Minnesota Street in the City of Detroit is under review. The request regarding a February 20, 2020 incident on Eight Mile Road in the City of Detroit has been returned to the requesting agency for further investigation.
*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
