Governor Whitmer Makes Appointments to Boards and Commissions

LANSING, Mich. - Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the following appointments to the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards, State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision, Michigan Community Service Commission, Governor's Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, Michigan Interagency Council on Homelessness, and the Michigan Workforce Development Board.

State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision

Mia Edgerson, of St. Clair Shores, is a grant compliance officer with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. She has over 20 years of experience in victim advocacy and the provision of victims' services. In her current role, she supports crime victims grants and ensures her office has sufficient funds to provide resources to victims of crimes. Ms. Edgerson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan University. She is appointed to fill a vacancy representing crime victims for a term commencing March 18, 2022 and expiring October 31, 2025.

Aya Takai, of Bloomfield Hills, is a policy advisor in the Executive Office of the Governor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Community and Global Public Health from the University of Michigan. Ms. Takai is appointed to fill a vacancy representing the executive branch for a term commencing March 18, 2022 and expiring October 31, 2022.

The Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision will guide the transfer of offenders in a manner that promotes effective supervision strategies consistent with public safety, offender accountability, and victim's rights
