Alphonso Jackson - Detroit defendant charged with dismembering the body of an unidentified female in the bathroom of his apartment. Yesterday the defendant pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder, Disinterment, Tampering with Evidence in Criminal Case and Failing to Report a Dead Body with a sentence agreement to 10 years-20 years. The sentence hearing is scheduled for January 29, 2014 before Judge Richard Skutt at 9:00 a.m.

Sandra St. Andre - Case No. 12-009342-02-FH - Defendant charged in the Romulus Police corruption case. The jury trial is in progress before Judge Michael Hathaway.

Notoriano and Pomeroy Preliminary Examination - Detroit and St. Clair Shores sergeants charged with armed robbery and other felonies. The preliminary examination was held and the defendants were bound over as charged before on Judge Joseph Baltimore on Monday, January 13, 2014. The arraignment on the information in Third Circuit Court is scheduled for January 27, 2014. Bond was continued for both defendants.

I adored Justice Patricia Boyle and will miss her. But more importantly, the legal profession will miss her. She was a pioneer for women lawyers and opened doors in our profession. She was the smartest lawyer in the room and conducted herself with dignity and grace. She was just a wonderful person.

Theodore Wafer - Dearborn Heights man charged with Second Degree Murder in connection with Renisha McBride. Wafer was arraigned today before Judge Qiana Lillard and a final conference date of April 4, 2014 and a jury trial date of June 2, 2014 was scheduled by the court. He was continued on bond.

Hamtramck Man Charged with Assault of 15-Year-Old Detroit Girl

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Anthony William Fortson, 45, (DOB 5/8/68), in connection with the assault of a 15-year-old Detroit girl. On January 14, 2014, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the girl was in front of her home in the 5500 block of Phillip home looking for an item she dropped. As she was about to go inside her house, it is alleged that Fortson assaulted her, forced her into his car and drove away with her. He drove her to his home in the 1800 block of Comstock and as Fortson was exiting his car, the girl ran to a nearby home for help. A neighbor allowed her into the house and immediately called the police.

The defendant has been charged with Unlawful Imprisonment (15years) and Assault and Battery (93 days). Fortson is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in 36th District Court. Please verify the exact time of the arraignment on the warrant with the Court.

Sara Ylen - Ylen falsely claimed she was sexually assaulted in her home and tampered with evidence to support her claim. Today the defendant was sentenced to two to four years on the False Report of a Felony charge and three to ten years on the Tampering with Evidence charge in 31st Circuit Court.

Sandra St. Andre - Wife of the former Romulus Police Chief charged in connection with the Romulus Police corruption scandal. Her jury trial will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Michael Hathaway.

Charles Jones and Chauncey Owens - Defendants charged with the First Degree Murder of Southeastern High student Je'rean Blake. The jury selection is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Richard Skutt for both defendants.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2014 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
