Mitchelle Blair - Mother charged in the death of her two children discovered in a freezer when she was being evicted from her St. Aubin Street apartment. Blair will have her arraignment on the information on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Dana Hathaway.

Ali Ariashi - Defendant charged in connection with two separate sexual assault cases that occurred in Southwest Detroit. Today case 15-711641 (Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, Felonious Assault and Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree) was dismissed because the witness failed to appear in court. On Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 9:00 a.m., there will be a preliminary examination for case number 15-711744-01 (Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, and Felony Firearm) before Judge Kenneth King.

Justin Dewayne Johnson - Defendant charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 15-yearold girl on her way to Henry Ford High in Detroit. Today he was referred for competency to stand trial and for criminal responsibility by Judge Shannon Holmes. His next court date is on August 24, 2015 for review of the forensic reports; the preliminary examination will not be heard on that day.

Charlie Bothuell IV and Monique Dillard Bothuell - Parents alleged to have systematically abused their then 12-year-old son. Today the preliminary examination concluded and Judge Shannon Holmes bound the Bothuells over on Child Abuse - Second Degree and dismissed the Torture charge. The bond was reduced from $500,000 cash/surety with a tether, to a $50,000 personal bond for each defendant. The arraignment on the information is scheduled for July 8, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.

Meho Saljic - Truck driver charged with Manslaughter in connection with backing up his semi-trailer truck loaded with steel coils and fatally striking a woman in Ecorse. Today the preliminary examination concluded and the case was bound over as charged. The arraignment on the information is scheduled for July 7, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.

Ali Ariashi - Defendant charged in connection with a sexual assault case that occurred in Southwest Detroit. Today the preliminary examination was held before Judge Kenneth King in case number 15-711744-01 (Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Conduct - First Degree and Felony Firearm) and the defendant was bound over for trial. The arraignment on the information is on July 2, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.

Virgil Smith - State senator charged in non-fatal shooting incident involving his wife. He was bound over as charged by Judge Michael Wagner on felony charges of Malicious Destruction of Property of $20,000 or more, Felonious Assault, Felony Firearm and the misdemeanor charge of Domestic Violence. His arraignment on the information is on July 9, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.

Nottingham Fatal Car Crash - We are reviewing the paperwork and there will be no arraignment today. Once this is completed, it is possible that the arraignment will take place on Saturday. A release will be sent out when the work is completed.

Detroit Man Charged in Eastside Detroit Fatal Crash

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Lorenzo Harris, 29 (DOB: 10/27/85), of Detroit, in connection with fleeing the police resulting in the fatal car crash that killed two children on June 24, 2015 at approximately 7:40 p.m. in the 5200 block of Nottingham in Detroit. Three other children were injured in the car crash. The specific facts of the case will be presented at the preliminary examination.

The defendant will be charged with: Second Degree Murder - two counts; Fleeing and Eluding First Degree - two counts; Leaving the Scene of an Accident When at Fault Causing Death - two counts; Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment - three counts; Leaving the Scene of an Accident When at Fault Causing Serious Injury - three counts; Unlawful Driving Away from an Accident; Carrying Concealed Weapon; Felon in Possession and Felony Firearm.

Lorenzo Harris was arraigned and remanded to jail. His probable cause hearing is on July 6, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. and his preliminary examination is on July 13, 2015 at 1:30p.m.
