Toriano Williams and Demond Williams - Defendants charged in connection with beating Grosse Pointe Park motorist after a traffic incident. Today their preliminary examination was re-scheduled for July 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Joseph Baltimore.

Dearborn Man Charged in Assault of Soccer Referee

Today Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Bassel Abdul-Amir Saad, 36 (DOB: 2/26/78), of Dearborn, in connection with the assault of a soccer referee. On June 29, 2014, at approximately 1:59 a.m. at Mies Park located at 32305 West Chicago in Livonia, Saad was participating in an adult soccer game when the referee determined he would automatically eject him from the game. It is alleged that Saad became upset and punched the referee in the head. The referee was immediately transported to a local hospital and is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

Saad has been charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm and was arraigned this afternoon in 16th District Court in Livonia. Saad received a $500,000 cash/surety bond and a preliminary examination date of July 10, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. Please contact the Livonia Police Department for a photograph of the defendant.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has not received a warrant request from The Detroit Police Department in connection with the case of the 12-year-old Detroit youth that was discovered in the basement of his father and step-mother's house.

Father Timothy Kane - Roman Catholic priest charged in alleged fraudulent scheme to steal money from the Archdiocese of Detroit. His jury trial has been adjourned from July 7. 2014 on by the defense motion due to a scheduling conflict. The new date for trial is September 29, 2014, before Judge Bruce Morrow. His co-defendant Dorreca Marvie Brewer will be tried at the same time.

Detroit Man Charged in Arson Fires

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Anthony Fields, 26, of Detroit in connection with several fires that occurred on Monday, June 30, 2014 between 12:55 a.m. and 6:27 a.m. in the area of Seven Mile Road and John R in Detroit. Investigation by Detroit Fire Department Investigators in conjunction with the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant.

Fields has been charged with Arson Third Degree in connection with a fire set at approximately 12:55 a.m. at a vacant commercial building in the 17600 block of John R and Arson Third Degree for a fire set at approximately 6:27 p.m. at a building in the 600 block of Robinwood. He is also charged with Obstruction of Justice for allegedly using threats and/or coercion to interfere with the investigation of the case and with the charge Resisting and Obstructing Police Officers.

Fields in expected to be arraigned tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in 36th District Court. Please contact the Detroit Police Department to request a photograph of the defendant.

Timothy Jones - Co-Defendant of Erin Justice in the homicide of Alicia Fox. Jones was originally charged with Accessory After the Fact to a Felony and he was arraigned on the information in Circuit Court before Judge Deborah Thomas. She lowered his bond from $50,000 cash/surety to $30,000 cash/surety. As a result of further investigation in the case, Jones's charges have been amended to add Tampering with Evidence (10 years) and two counts of Concealing the Death of an Individual (five years). Arrangements will be made for him to be arraigned by video on the warrant for the new charges in 36th District Court and he will receive a new preliminary examination date. An update will be sent out when this information is available.

Erin Justice - Charged in the homicide of his wife Alicia Fox. The investigation into the two missing children in this case is continuing. The defendant is fighting his extradition from Fulton County, Georgia. A date for the extradition hearing has not been set by the court in Fulton County at this time.

Anthony Fields - Charged with several arsons that occurred in the Seven Mile/John R area. Fields was arraigned today in 36th District Court, his preliminary examination July 14, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Alicia Jones-Coleman. He received a $500,000 cash/surety bond.
