Levert Smith - Defendant Smith, 48 DOB (9/11/66), of Detroit has been charged with:(1) Open Murder, (2) Felonious Assault, (3) Felony Firearm (2nd Offense), (4) Felon in Possession of a Firearm in connection with the March 14, 2015 fatal shooting of Larry Collier, 40 of Detroit and pointing a shotgun at Andrew Robertson, age unknown, after an argument that occurred at a home in the 4600 block of Courville in Detroit. Smith is expected to be arraigned in 36th District Court today at 2:30 p.m. Please confirm the arraignment date and time with the court.

Derrick Felton - Sixty-one year old Detroiter was charged with three counts of Harboring a Dangerous Animal Causing Serious Injury on a not in custody warrant on December 11, 2014 for allegedly possessing dogs in Detroit that severely attacked and injured victim Steve Constantine, 50. Felton was arrested and arraigned yesterday. He received a $50,000/10% bond. His Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Monday March 23, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. and his Preliminary Examination is scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Ronald Giles.

Man and Woman Charged with Malicious Destruction of Property

Prosecutor Worthy has charged Nathaniel Nix, 26 (DOB: 10/11/88) of Detroit, with Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000 (five year felony), Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (four year felony), and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (two year felony) in connection with an incident that occurred on March 18, 2015 at approximately 10:00 a.m. at Mack and Cadieux in Detroit. It is alleged that the defendant was driving his car and hit the car driven by Chimere Spires, 27, of Detroit. Spires and Nix have a child in common who was a passenger in Spires's car at the time it was struck. The woman and child were not injured.

Prosecutor Worthy has charged Chimere Spires, 27 (DOB: 1/16/88) of Detroit, with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (four year felony), Malicious Destruction of Property over $200 and less than $1000 (one year misdemeanor) in connection with the above incident involving Nathaniel Nix at 10:00 a.m. at Mack and Cadieux in Detroit. It is alleged that the defendant intentionally struck Nix's car while her child was a passenger in the car.

Both defendants were arraigned today. Their bonds were set at $50,000/10%. Their probable cause hearings are scheduled for March 30, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Giles; their Preliminary Examinations are scheduled for April 10, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Giles.
