Northville Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Robert Louis Messer, 37, of Northville, in connection with allegations that he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old Plymouth Township girl. Messer was a friend of the child's family. On Sunday, October 27, 2013, he picked up the victim from her home in Plymouth Township and drove her to his home in Northville. At approximately 2:30 p.m., Messer and the girl were seen leaving his Northville home together. It is alleged that Messer had sexual contact with the victim at locations in Wayne and Washtenaw County. On Tuesday, October 29, 2013, they were found by the police in Washtenaw County. The details of the case will be presented in court at the preliminary examination.

Messer faces the following charges: one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree, three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct Third Degree and one count of Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes.

Messer was arraigned today in 35th District Court in Plymouth and he received a bond of 2 million dollars/10%. The defendant's preliminary examination is scheduled for November 8, 2013, at 8:30 a.m.

Two Men Charged in Connection with Wayne State Law Student

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Michael Booker, 41, (DOB 10/8/72) of Detroit, and Robert Windsor, 34, (DOB 4/21/79) with crimes in connection with Wayne State University law student Tiane Brown, 34, of Waterford. Brown had been reported missing by her parents when she failed to pick up her children on Monday. On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, Ms. Brown was found near the Detroit Packard Plant on East Grand Boulevard and Frontenac at approximately 11:30 a.m.

It is alleged that Michael Booker committed the following crimes: Tampering with Evidence (10 years), Larceny from a Motor Vehicle (five years), Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property under $1000 (one-year misdemeanor), Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle under $1,000 (one year misdemeanor) and two counts of Assault and Battery (93-day misdemeanor).

It is alleged that Windsor committed Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property under $1000 (one year misdemeanor).

Booker and Windsor are expected to be arraigned by video in 34th District Court in Romulus at 11:00 a.m. on November 2, 2013.

No further details will be released because the police investigation is continuing in this matter.
