Update on Homicide of Three-Year-Old Girl - On Sunday, September 21, 2014, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office received a warrant request in connection with the homicide of a three-year-old Detroit girl that occurred on the night of Thursday, September 18, 2014. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has requested further investigation from the Detroit Police Department and a charging decision will be made until the work is completed.

Today Prosecutor Worthy has charged Clifford Daniel Thomas, 33 (DOB: 7/8/81), of Detroit, with Resisting and Obstructing the Police. On the evening of Thursday, September 18, 2014, Thomas was placed in a squad car at a location in the 1300 block of Third Street by police. Thomas was then taken into police custody in connection with the homicide of a three-year-old girl that occurred on the same day at a location in the 16800 block of Rockdale in Detroit. It is alleged that while he was being placed into a squad car, he attempted to flee and resist the police, but was shortly captured and re-arrested. He is expected to be arraigned today at 2:30 p.m. in 36th District Court, located at 421 Madison Avenue in Detroit. Please confirm the arraignment time with the court.

We have just been informed by the Detroit Police Department that the arraignment for Clifford Thomas will take place tomorrow. An update will be sent out with the time when it is confirmed.

Sledge, Collins and Parlovecchio - On Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 9:00 a.m., Judge Thomas Jackson will conduct the arraignments for the defendants in Frank Murphy Hall of Justice, Courtroom 202 located at 1441 St. Antoine in Detroit.

Jayru Campbell - Today Campbell's preliminary examination in connection with an alleged assault on his girlfriend at Cass Tech High was adjourned at the request of his counsel due to a scheduling conflict. The new date for the hearing is Friday, October 3, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. His probation violation hearing scheduled for September 26, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Timothy Kenny will be re-scheduled; a new date is not available at this time.

It is alleged that while he was being placed into a squad car, he attempted to flee and resist the police, but was shortly captured and re-arrested. We have been informed by the Detroit Police Department that the arraignment for Clifford Thomas was held yesterday in the afternoon. He received a 5,000/10% bond and a preliminary examination date of October 3, 2014 before Judge Kenneth King.

Sledge, Collins and Parlovecchio - Defendants indicted in the Wayne County Jail probe. Today, Carla Sledge and Steven Collins were arraigned before Judge Thomas Jackson and entered pleas of not guilty. They both received $1000 personal bonds and orders to have no contact with persons connected to the Wayne County Jail Project. Ms. Sledge has been granted the ability to continue to reside in Florida and travel back to Michigan for court proceedings. Their next date in court is on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Megan Maher Brennan.

Anthony Parlovecchio Is charged with one misdemeanor count of Willful Neglect of Duty. Because this is a misdemeanor charge he will be arraigned by a 36th District Court judge. The date and time for arraignment will be scheduled later today.

Robert Bashara - Charged with the homicide of his wife, Jane Bashara. The trial on this case has been scheduled for Monday, October 6, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Vonda Evans.

Wayne County Jail Case Update - Judge Megan Maher Brennan did not handle the court proceeding today; the case was blind drawn to Judge Lawrence Talon. Ms. Sledge and Mr. Collins appeared before Judge Talon today. He disqualified himself due to a conflict of interest and the case was blind drawn to Judge Vonda Evans. The next court date is on September 30, 2014. Mr. Parlovecchio did not appear in court today. He is waiting for an arraignment date from the 36th District Court.
