Damond Ramone Reeves - 21 (DOB: 10/31/1996) - Detroit man charged with four counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count CCW, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with Unlawful Intent and five counts of Felony Firearm*. It is alleged that he shot an eight year old girl at Plymouth near Wyoming in Detroit in March 23, 2018. He was arraigned in 34th District Court in Romulus on March 24, 2018. The probable cause conference is scheduled for April 3, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for April 10, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge William McConico in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $200,000/10% bond.

*The charges are allegations unless and until the defendant is convicted.

March 11, 2018 Assault on Man at Ottava Via Restaurant - WCPO has received a warrant request for this matter. The warrant request is being reviewed and a decision is not expected this week.

Children Left Alone in Detroit Hotel Room - WCPO has just received a warrant request that is currently being reviewed. An update will be sent out when a charging decision has been made.

Mom Charged for Children Left Alone in Detroit Hotel Room

On March 28, 2018 Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Michele Penick, 24 (DOB: 05/04/1993), with two counts of Child Abuse Second Degree*. On March 27, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Penick is alleged to have left her two young children alone in a hotel room in the 20000 block of James Couzens Freeway in Detroit. While Detroit police officers were investigating a shooting that occurred in front of the hotel, they observed a bullet hole in the window of a hotel room. When they did a well-being check of the room, the children were discovered unsupervised. The children were placed with Child Protective Services. The mother was placed under arrest later on the same day.

On March 30, 2018, Defendant Penick was arraigned and received a $150,000 cash/surety bond. Her probable cause conference is on April 10, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. and her preliminary examination is on April 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.

Inkster Man Charged in Murder of Girlfriend

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jerome Duckwyler, 35 (DOB: 10/21/1982), connection with the homicide of his girlfriend, Michelle Nicole Briscoe, (DOB: 09/09/1981), both of Inkster. On March 29, 2018 at approximately 6:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 250 block of Cherry Valley Drive, it is alleged that Duckwyler fatally shot Ms. Briscoe multiple times. The Inkster police were dispatched to the location where they discovered Ms. Briscoe's lifeless body and placed Duckwyler under arrest.

Defendant Duckwyler has been charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Firearm.* He is expected to be arraigned on Saturday, March 21, 2018 in 34th District Court in Romulus.
