Inkster Woman Charged in Allen Park Double Fatal Car Crash
Prosecutor Kym L _ Worthy has charged Chana Woods, 31, of Inkster, in connection with an Allen
Park fatal car crash that killed two mem On November 7, 2015 at approximately 2:35 p.m., it is
alleged that Woods was driving under the influence of drugs when she lost control of her car on l-
94 near Oakwood Boulevard in Allen Park and struck and killed Marko Rubin, 48, of Macomb City
and France Bowers, 49, of Southfield. The men were each riding on motorcycles at the time
Woods struck them.
Woods has been charged with two counts each of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the
Influence Causing Death, and two counts each of Driving With License Suspended Woods was
arraigned today and remanded to jail on a Sl million cash/surety bond in 24th District Court in Allen
Park. Her probable cause hearing will be held on November 23, 2015 at 9:00 am. before Judge
Richard Page. Her preliminary examination will be held on November 30, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. before
Judge John Courtright

Fatal Shooting of Nine-year-old Boy on Barton Street in Detroit - We have recently received a
warrant request for this case. An update will be sent out when a charging decision has been

Detroit Man Charged in Hit and Run Fatal Car Crash
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged George McCree, 36 (DOB: 1/11/79) of Detroit, in connection with the fatal car crash that killed Lawanna Durrett, 48, of Detroit. On November 8, 2015 at approximately 5:45 p.m., Ms. Durrett was crossing East Seven Mile near Runyon when she was fatally struck by a car. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the identification and arrest of McCree. It is alleged that he was driving under the influence of alcohol when he struck Ms. Durrett in his car and fled from the scene.
McCree has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Death, Driving With License Suspended Causing Death, and Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death. He was arraigned before Magistrate Charles Anderson and received a $25,000 cash/surety bond. His probable cause hearing is scheduled for November 17, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. The preliminary examination is scheduled for November 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m., both hearings before Judge Ronald Giles. The defendant received a $25,000/10% bond.

Fairlane Mall Shooting - The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office has received a warrant request from the Dearborn Police Department in connection with a shooting incident that took place on November 9, 2015 in Fairlane Mall. A decision is not expected in the case this afternoon.

Detroit Man Charged in Fairlane Mall Shooting
Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Diente Tresean Watts, 22, of Detroit, in connection with a shooting incident that took place on November 9, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. in Fairlane Mall in Dearborn. It is alleged that Watts was outside of a jewelry store in the mall when he robbed a 24-year-old Detroit man at gunpoint and took a pair of designer eye glasses. After Watts took the glasses, reports of shots fired were called in to the police and the mall was locked down. Watts fled the mall and investigation by the Dearborn Police Department lead to his arrest on November 10, 2015. At this time the case remains under investigation and no further details will be released.
Watts was arraigned today before Judge Sam Salamey in the 19th District court for arraignment. Judge Salamey set a $400,000 Cash/Surety bond and required Watts to be subject to GPS tether monitoring. The preliminary examination is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on December 4th, 2015 at the 19th District Court
