Prosecutor Worthy has charged Jeffrey Willie Turner, DOB: (08/13/1986), in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 32-year-old Detroit man. Turner is a Detroit firefighter who was off duty at the time of the incident. On October 22, 2020 at 12:33 p.m. Detroit police officers were dispatched to a location in the 6330 block of Barton for a person who was shot. Upon arrival at the home the officers observed the victim lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head area. Turner remained in the house after the shooting. It is alleged that Turner shot and non-fatally wounded the man in the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. More specific facts and evidence in the case will be introduced at the preliminary examination.

Turner has been charged with one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, and two counts of Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned in 36th District Court today and received a $75,000/10% bond with a GPS tether. His Probable Cause Conference is on December 18, 2020 and his Preliminary Examination is on December 23, 2020 both before Judge Kenneth King.
