On December 15, 2019, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Romulus police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 35420 block of North Alexander Street in Romulus for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the defendant inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Medics arrived on scene and transported the defendant to a local hospital for treatment.
It is alleged that the defendant, the 22-year-old victim, and a Romulus woman were in the North Alexander home engaged in sexual activity. At that time the defendant fired a handgun, striking the 22-year-old victim in the face, non-fatally wounding her. It is further alleged that after the victim was shot, she struggled with the defendant, and he lost control over his weapon.
