Good Samaritan Robbed by 19-Year-Old Man

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Cawuan Antonio Cunningham, 19 (DOB: 07/02/2000), no known address, in connection with the robbery of an 86-year-old man from Detroit.

On December 4, 2019 at approximately 11:46 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to the area of Marseilles Street and Rockcastle Street in Detroit for an unarmed robbery call. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the 86-year-old male victim from Detroit. The victim gave the defendant a ride to Marseilles Street and Rockcastle Street in Detroit. When they reached the location, it is alleged that the defendant robbed the victim of his money and fled the scene on foot. Investigation to the Detroit police officers led to the arrest of Cunningham nearby.

Cunningham has been charged with Unarmed Robbery and Larceny from a Person.* He was arraigned yesterday afternoon in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for December 20, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for December 27, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Lynise Bryant in 36th District Court.
