Two Men Charged in Harper Woods Home Invasion and Dog Shooting

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Michael Jason Gadie, 42 (DOB: 07/04/1975), of Warren, and Timothy Wade Horton, 48 (DOB: 04/06/1969), of Detroit, in connection with a home invasion during which it is alleged they non-fatally shot a dog.

On January 2, 2018, at 7:55 p.m., it is alleged that Gadie and Horton forced entry into a home in the 19700 block of Country Club Drive in Harper Woods. The 26-year-old male home owner and a 25-year-old St. Clair Shores man were inside the house when it is alleged that they were confronted at gunpoint by Gadie. It is further alleged that Horton came into the house and was standing next to Gadie when Gadie pointed a gun at the 26-year-old home owner, demanding that he tell him where marijuana was located in the house. When the home owner's dog heard the commotion, it jumped on Gadie and Horton, and Gadie shot the dog. The home owner was able to escape from the house. The defendants are alleged to have forced the 25-year-old man to lead them to money and a garbage bag of marijuana in the basement. After they had the items, the defendants entered a vehicle and left the location. Investigation by the Harper Woods police led to the arrest of Gadie and Horton on the same day. The dog survived the shooting.
