Man and Wife Carjacked at Grosse Pointe Farms Gas Station

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Antonio Beck, 23 (DOB: 10/06/1996), of Detroit, in connection with an assault and carjacking of an 80-year-old Grosse Pointe Farms man and his wife. On November 13, 2019, at 8:30 p.m., Beck was at a gas station at Mack and Moross in Grosse Pointe Farms. It is alleged that Beck observed the victims' running car at a gas pump and assaulted both victims in an effort to obtain the keys to carjack the vehicle. During the assault, Beck injured the man's head. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The defendant fled from the scene on foot and was arrested on the same night.

Beck has been charged with one count of Carjacking and two counts of misdemeanor Assault and Battery.* He arraigned in Grosse Pointe Farms Municipal Court and received a $100,000 cash/surety bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for November 20, 2019 at 8:20 a.m. before Judge Matthew R. Rumora.
