Detroit Man Charged in Homicide of His Brother

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Ernest Anthony Milo, 59, (DOB: 11/02/1958), in connection with the homicide of his brother, Ernest William Walton, 54, both of Detroit. On May 29, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to an apartment the brothers shared in the 1150 block of Holcomb. Upon arrival the officers observed Walton with gunshot, lying unresponsive on the floor. Medics arrived at the apartment and pronounced Walton dead at the scene. It is alleged that Milo fatally shot his brother with a handgun after an argument. The police canvassed the area, observed Milo, and placed him under arrest.

Milo has been charged with Open Murder and Felony Firearm*. He was arraigned today at 2:30 p.m. in 36th District Court. The probable cause conference is scheduled for June 14, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.; the preliminary examination is scheduled for June 21, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Lydia Nance Adams in 36th District Court. The defendant was remanded to jail.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
