Allen Park Man Charged in Carjacking Case

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Earl Joeseph Larche, 37 (DOB: 08/28/1980), of Allen Park, with Carjacking.

On October 12, 2017, at 6:09 p.m., at a BP gas station in the 16050 block of Southfield Road near Roosevelt Avenue in Allen Park, it is alleged that Larche approached the car of a 24-year-old female who was outside of her car pumping gas when Larche jumped in the car and drove it away. The woman jumped in the passenger side of the vehicle and, with the aid of a male truck driver at the scene, was able to stop the car from leaving the station. The defendant was briefly captured by the truck driver but the defendant broke free and ran from the scene. Investigation by the Allen Park police lead to Larche's arrest.

Larche has been charged with Carjacking* and was arraigned in 34th District Court in Romulus on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The Probable Cause Conference is on October 25, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. before 24th District Court Judge Richard Page. The Preliminary Exam is on October 30, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. before 24th District Court Judge John Courtright. The defendant received a $15,000 cash/surety bond.
