Seventeen-Year-Old Charged in Multiple Assaults

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jaden Deangelo Jones, 17, (DOB: 07/10/2003), of Detroit, in connection with multiple assaults. The assaults all occurred in Detroit.

Felonious Assault in the 15700 block of Pierson Street

On August 4, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m., it is alleged that the defendant approached a 36-year-old victim and made sexual remarks toward the victim. The victim told Jones to leave. While leaving it is alleged that he fired a single shot at the victim that did not strike her.

Jones has been charged with Felonious Assault and Indecent Exposure.* He was arraigned on August 20, 2020 in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 28, 2020 before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $500,000 cash/surety bond.

Sexual Assault in the 20200 block of Grand River Avenue

On August 4, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m., it is alleged that the defendant sexually assaulted a 41-year-old female victim. it is further alleged that the defendant exposed himself to her.

Jones has been charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct - Fourth Degree.* He was arraigned on August 24, 2020 in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 4, 2020 in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $50,000/10% bond.

Felonious Assault on Verne Street near Westmoreland Road

On August 5, 2020 at approximately 8:50 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant approached a 67-year-old female victim at gun point to rob her as she was walking down the street. It is alleged that the defendant followed her to her residence and touched her buttock. When they approached the location on Westmoreland Road, the victim's husband was outside and the suspect fled the location.

Jones has been charged with Armed Robbery, Criminal Sexual Conduct - Second Degree, Felonious Assault and three counts of Felony Firearm.* He was arraigned on August 24, 2020 in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 4, 2020 in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $100,000/10% bond.

Sexual Assault in the 16600 block of Lahser Road

On August 5, 2020 at approximately 9:50 p.m., while sitting on a park bench with an acquaintance, it is alleged that the defendant pulled a weapon and robbed a 43-year-old female victim and then sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

Jones has been charged with two counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, two counts of Armed Robbery, two counts of Felonious Assault and six counts of Felony Firearm.* He was arraigned in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 28, 2020 before Judge Kenneth King in 36th District Court. The defendant received a $2 million dollar cash/surety bond.

Prosecutor Worthy said, "The evidence in these cases are very alarming. The defendant's alleged actions are frightening, and the violence is escalating."
