Redford Man Charged with Assault
On March 19, 2022, at approximately 2:19 a.m., at a residence in the 26530 block of Plymouth Road in Redford, it is alleged that Defendant Muscat assaulted the 44-year-old victim with a bat, before sexually assaulting her, and threatening her with a knife. It is also alleged that the defendant assaulted the 14-year-old victim with a bat. It is further alleged that the defendant threatened his wife with a knife.
Redford police were called to the scene a set up a perimeter around the trailer. Defendant Muscat opened the front door with a rifle, and police fired multiple shots, striking the defendant once in the chest. Defendant Muscat was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Norman Louis Muscat has been charged with one count of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, one count of Third-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, two counts of Second-Degree Child Abuse, one count of Child Abuse - Second-Degree Committed in the Presence of Another Child, six counts of Felonious Assault, and one count of Felony Firearm. *
He was arraigned and remanded to jail yesterday morning in 17th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for March 29, 2022, at 8:45 a.m. before Judge Karen Khalil. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Redford Police Department.
