Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Alexandra Lynn Farr, 39, (DOB: 04/18/1982), of Roseville, in connection with the ethnic intimidation and assault of a 29-year-old African American Muslim woman.

On September 11, 2021, at approximately 6:25 p.m., while onboard a Spirit Airlines flight, it is alleged that Defendant Farr was profane and disruptive when she shouted a racial slur at the female victim during a verbal confrontation. When the victim attempted to pull out her phone to record the altercation, it is further alleged that the defendant struck the victim's hand and her phone. Detroit Metro Airport police officers responded to the scene and arrested the defendant.

Alexandra Lynn Farr has been charged with one count of Ethnic Intimidation, a two-year high misdemeanor, one count of Assault and Battery, and one count of Disorderly Person, both 93-day misdemeanors. *

"The alleged activity of this defendant was completely inappropriate and quickly elevated to criminal activity, said Prosecutor Worthy. "Racist rants have become far more common lately and we will not hesitate to take action when we can do so legally."

She was arraigned this morning in 34th District Court and given a $7,500 personal bond and ordered to have no contact with the complaining witness. Her Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 29, 2021 in 34th District Court before Judge Lisa Martin. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Metro Airport Police.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
