Southfield Man Charged in Attempted DTW Sexual Assault

Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Raymond Anthony Jackson, Jr., 32, (DOB: 05/09/1990), of Southfield, in connection with the sexual assault of a 45-year-old Ohio woman.

On May 14, 2022, at approximately 8:40 a.m., it is alleged that Jackson approached the victim at the Blue Deck Parking Garage at Detroit Metro Airport. It is further alleged that the defendant led the victim to a vacant area and attempted to sexually assault her.

Raymond Anthony Jackson Jr. has been charged with one count of Kidnapping, and one count of Aggravated Indecent Exposure. *

"The alleged actions of this defendant once again shows that we are not safe from sexual assault anywhere or any time," said Prosecutor Worthy. "I am not trying to be an alarmist, but we must stay focused and not let incidents like this ever be relegated to the back pages again. Prevention, education, and swift action by law enforcement are key."

Defendant Jackson was arraigned this morning in 34th District Court and given a $10,000/10% bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 15, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge Brian Oakley. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Metro Airport Police Department.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
