Southgate Man Charged in Murder of Wife
Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Ryan Arthur Hilton, 32 (DOB:11/11/1988), in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife Amanda Marie Hilton. The Hintons were residents of Southgate.
On January 1, 2021, Ryan Hilton contacted the Southgate police to report that his wife was missing from their apartment in the 14500 block of Northline and that she was last seen at their apartment on December 31, 2021. It is alleged that on December 31, 2020 that Defendant Hinton had a verbal argument with his wife and fatally shot her with a shotgun and removed her body to a field with tall grass near a dumpster by their apartment. On January 5, 2021 Ms. Hinton's lifeless body was recovered by the Southgate Police Department and the defendant was placed under arrest.
Ryan Hinton has been charged with First Degree Murder, Tampering with Evidence, and two Counts of Felony Firearm. * The defendant was arraigned and remanded to jail. His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled on January 15, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. in 28th District Court in Southgate. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Southgate Police Department.
The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
