Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Gabriel Kieshaun-Dajuan Toler, 36, of Taylor, in connection with the fatal shootings of Hollie Stoops, 41, of Lincoln Park, Mary Hernandez, 28, of Monroe, MI, and the non-fatal shooting of a 33-year-old man of Taylor.

On May 5, 2024, at approximately 1:58 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3800 block of 33rd Street for a reported triple shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located inside the home Ms. Hernandez deceased, with a gunshot wound to the head, Ms. Stoops, deceased with a gunshot wound to the head and back, and the 33-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face and leg. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the 33-year-old victim to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that an altercation between Defendant Toler and Ms. Hernandez escalated, and the defendant produced and fired a handgun multiple times, non-fatally wounding the 33-year-old victim, and fatally injuring Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Stoops, before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on May 14, 2024.

Gabriel Kieshaun-Dajuan Toler has been charged with two counts of First-Degree Murder, one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and four counts of Felony Firearm.*

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 28, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for June 3, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
