Taylor Woman Charged in Dearborn Heights Fatal Hit-and-Run
On September 15, 2021, at approximately 10:15 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant was driving Westbound on Van Born Road in Dearborn Heights at a high rate of speed before fatally striking the victim on his motorcycle and fleeing the scene. Members of the Taylor Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Investigation by the Dearborn Heights Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on September 16, 2021.
Ashley Anne Taylor-Baker has been charged with one count of Failure to Stop at a Scene of an Accident Causing Death, one count of Tampering with Evidence, and one count of Moving Violation Causing Death. *
She was arraigned on September 21, 2021 in 20th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for September 28, 2021 in 20rd District Court before Judge Mark Plawecki. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Dearborn Heights Police Department after the arraignment.
