Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Alexis Childs, 25, Elisha Dejuan Hill, 26, and a 15-year-old juvenile male, all of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Thomas Davis, 26, and the non-fatal shootings of a 26-year-old man, and an 18-year-old man, also of Detroit.

The juvenile respondent is not being charged as an adult defendant; he has been adult designated. This means that upon conviction an adult designation allows the judge to have the option of sentencing the respondent as a juvenile, or as an adult, or to fashion a blended juvenile sentence with the option of imposing an adult sentence if the juvenile is not rehabilitated.

On July 22, 2023, at approximately 2:02 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 17710 block of Chandler Park Drive for a reported triple shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located Mr. Davis in front of the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived on the scene and transported Mr. Davis to a local hospital for where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

It is alleged that the defendants fired handguns from their vehicle at the victims, fatally injuring Mr. Davis, and non-fatally injuring the 26-year-old and 18-year-old victims, before fleeing the scene. The surviving victims were privately transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of Defendant Childs on July 24, 2023, and the arrest of Defendant Hill and the juvenile respondent on July 26, 2023. Further facts and evidence in the case will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination.

Alexis Childs and Elisha Dejuan Hill have both been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and three counts of Felony Firearm. * Childs and Hill were arraigned and remanded to jail on July 29, 2023, in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 7, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for August 14, 2023, at 1:35 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.

Yesterday, the juvenile respondent was charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, and three counts of Felony Firearm. * His Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for August 8, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge Cylenthia Miller.

"There is no amount of imagination that can account for the facts of this case that included a triple shooting. Once again, the answer to an alleged dispute results in a flurry of bullets from multiple people and the result is deadly," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
