Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Leo Sanders, 60 (DOB: 12/13/1961) and Leon Sanders, 60 (DOB: 12/13/1961), both of Detroit in connection with removing bricks from a Detroit Land Bank Authority (DLBA) home.

On March 5, 2021, at 9:50 a.m., Detroit police officers responded to a Scrapping in Progress at a home in the 4000 block of Whitney in Detroit. It is alleged that both defendants were taking bricks from a home that belonged to the Detroit Land Bank. The investigation revealed that DLBA did not have a contract with the defendants.

On March 7, 2021, Leo Sanders and Leon Sanders were both charged with Larceny $1,000 or more, but less than $20,000 and RCSP $1,000 or more, but less than $20,000. * Both defendants were arraigned on March 7, 2021 in 34th District Court in Romulus and given a $10,000 personal bond. Their Probable Cause Conference is on April 15, 2021 in 36th District Court in Detroit. Please request a photograph of the defendants from the Detroit Police Department.
