Two Detroit Males Charged in Robbery and Carjacking
One June 16, 2023, Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Dwayne Whitley, 16, and Marlon Henderson, 17, both of Detroit, in connection with the carjacking of 36-year-old Taylor man's vehicle. They are being charged as adult defendants. On June 16, 2023, the defendants were also charged in connection with the robbery and assault of an off-duty Detroit Police Officer.
On June 3, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., at Rouge Park in Detroit, it is alleged that the defendants approached the victim and pointed a handgun towards him. It is further alleged that the defendants robbed the victim before entering his vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Both defendants have been charged with one count of Carjacking, one count of Armed Robbery, and two counts of Felony Firearm. *
They were arraigned on June 16, 2023, in 36th District Court before Magistrate Malaika Ramsey-Heath. Both Defendants were given a $175,000 cash bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for June 23, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., before Judge Patricia Jefferson. Please request a photograph of the defendants from the Detroit Police Department.
