On March 18, 2015, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office was presented with a warrant request from the Wayne Police Department for a male teacher employed at the Roosevelt McGrath School in Wayne, Michigan. On March 11, 2015, a complaint was made to the Wayne Police by a seven-year-old boy's relative alleging that on March 9, 2015 around noon, the boy and two other male students in his class were sexually assaulted by a male teacher while in the boy's bathroom at school.
The Wayne Police Department conducted a thorough investigation, which included security tapes from the school, interviews of child and adult witnesses, and other evidence related to the matter. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit reviewed the evidence submitted and conducted independent interviews of witnesses. After completing the warrant review process, it has been determined there is insufficient evidence to support issuance of any criminal charges and the warrant has been denied.
