Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged William Scott Grant, 49, (DOB: 02/01/1973), of Westland, in connection with the murder of his wife, Sarah Grant, 45.

On May 3, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Westland police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 32620 block of Judy Drive in Westland for a possible homicide. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim in the garage, deceased, with multiple lacerations across her body. The defendant fled from the home before police arrived. Investigation by the Westland Police Department led to the arrest of Defendant Grant later the same day.

It is alleged that Defendant Grant stabbed the victim multiple times with a pair of scissors, fatally injuring her.

William Scott Grant has been charged with one count of Premeditated First-Degree Murder, one count of Felony Murder, and one count of Torture. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 18th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 19, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 26, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., before Judge Mark McConnell.
