Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Anthony Kesteloot, 25 (DOB: 10/30/1993), in connection with the death of Olivia Rossi, 23, both of Westland. The defendant and Ms. Rossi were acquainted with each other.

On August 18, 2019, at 10:00 p.m., the defendant contacted Ms. Rossi, came to her house and picked her up in his truck. They eventually went back to the defendant's house in the 29150 block of Manchester in Westland. It is alleged that Ms. Rossi died at the defendant's home and that he took her lifeless body and disposed of it in a creek at Hines Park. Her body was recovered by Westland police officers in Hines Park on August 23, 2019. Investigation by the Westland Police led to the identification and arrest of the defendant. Further facts and evidence in the case will be placed on the record in court.

On August 26, 2019, Defendant Kesteloot was charged with Disinterment of a Dead Body, Obstruction of Justice, Removing a Dead Body, Failure to Report a Dead Body and Tampering with Evidence in a Criminal Case.* The defendant received a $100,000 cash/surety bond and is housed in the Wayne County Jail.

Yesterday, the original case was dismissed and has been re-issued adding the charge of Open Murder. Kesteloot has also been charged with Disinterment of a Dead Body, Obstruction of Justice, Removing a Dead Body, Failure to Report a Dead Body and Tampering with Evidence in a Criminal Case. He was arraigned by video this morning before 18th District Court Judge Sandra Cicirelli. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for January 23, 2020 at 8:30 a.m.; the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for January 30, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. Both hearings are before Judge Sandra Cicirelli in 18th District Court in Westland.
