WHAT DOES MIDC COMPLIANCE MEAN FOR THE WAYNE COUNTY DEFENDER?

All current assigned counsel and attorneys seeking to join the Wayne County roster are asked
to attend one of six roundtable discussions in an effort to:

(1) ensure all appointed counsel understand the necessity of compliance with MCL 780.981 et
seq, and
(2) discuss important updates for Fiscal Year 2023 (October 2022 - September 2023)
including introduction of the new case management system (for attorney assignments
and payments), training, qualifications and new processes and programs.

TIER ONE and TIER TWO attorney roundtable discussions will be held on:
Thursday, June 30 @ 3:00 PM
Friday, July 1 @ 3:00 PM
Saturday, July 2 @ 10:30 AM

TIER THREE and TIER FOUR attorney roundtable discussions will be held on:
Thursday, July 14 @ 3:00 PM
Friday, July 15 @ 3:00 PM
Saturday, July 16 @ 10:30 AM

ALL ASSIGNED COUNSEL should plan to attend at least ONE of the scheduled meetings. If you
are approved for more than one Tier, please choose the higher Tier roundtable. Zoom
information will be sent out in advance of the meeting dates.

You may also elect to schedule a private meeting with the Indigent Defense Services
Department Assigned Counsel Administrator by August 1, 2022. Email your request for a
private meeting to Angela Peterson at IDSDwayne@waynecounty.com

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
