Wayne County Commissioner Raymond Basham, D-Taylor, recently presented a resolution to Robert and Douglas Reimel of Angler's Marine Prop & Sail Inc. in Taylor for 53 years of service to the community.

Angler's, which opened in 1963, is at 11643 S. Telegraph Road. It's an authorized Lund, Evinrude and Mercury Marine dealership that sells new and pre-owned boats and outboard motors. It also has service and parts departments.

The Reimels support related groups and events, including the Huron Valley Sportfishing Club, the Downriver Walleye Federation, the Pointe Mouillee Waterfowl Festival and the Michigan Duck Hunters Tournament.

"Many people throughout Downriver embrace the great outdoors, and Angler's Marine Prop & Sail caters to that through selling and servicing boats and outboard motors," Commissioner Basham said. "It's great that they've been in business for 53 years. Longtime family businesses like Angler's truly are the backbone of any community."

Commissioner Basham has honored several longtime businesses in the 14th District, which covers Brownstown Township, Flat Rock, Rockwood, Taylor and Woodhaven.
