Wayne County Commissioner Raymond E. Basham (D-Taylor) will hold an ID Card event for county military veterans 9 a.m. to noon Friday, March 24 at Taylor City Hall, 23555 Goddard Road. The event will be held in the building's atrium. It is co-sponsored by the Wayne County Veterans Division.

In addition to receiving their ID Card, veterans can learn about the discounts it will provide at businesses throughout the county.

Participants are asked to bring their DD214 Discharge paperwork and a valid photo ID to receive their new Veterans ID Card.

"It is my pleasure to hold an event like this for my fellow veterans," Commissioner Basham said. "This ID card is one way to recognize our veterans and allow them to have easier access to benefits and discounts without having to always carry a copy of their DD-214 paperwork."

Commissioner Basham represents the 14th District, including Taylor, Flat Rock, Rockwood, Woodhaven and Brownstown Township. Call his office at (313) 224-0876 for more.
