"The scenes of the U.S. Capitol overrun by supporters of President Trump marks a sad day in the history of our Republic. Never have I witnessed such brazen acts of sedition against our country and our democratic principles. Those who stand silent against these agitators of hate and racism are complicit in their deeds.

"Do not mistake the actions of these seditionists with those of patriots and heroes. These individuals are the furthest thing from that. This is a mob set on disenfranchising every citizen who cast a ballot in November. This is a mob hellbent of preventing Congress from performing its constitutional duty to certify the Electoral College vote and ensure the peaceable transfer of power. This is sedition, pure and simple."
