Thank you so much to Quicken Loans, Detroit Smart Pages Newspaper, and the Detroit Development Fund for honoring me with the Detroit Thank You Award on Wednesday evening. The purpose of this annual awards and recognition ceremony is to recognize the invaluable contributions of small business owners in the City of Detroit, so I couldn't be more pleased to receive this award. I have always believed that small business is the backbone of the economy in Detroit and Wayne County, and whenever we can we need to recognize and honor those businesses that have stayed in the commuity and weathered the storms. Whatever resurgence we are experiencing now, as welcome as it is, could not have taken place without those small businesses.

I would also like to thank my good friend Tony Stovall, owner of Hot Sam's Detroit,, for giving me such a wonderful introduction.
