Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Gabriel Kieshaun Toler, 32, (DOB: 04/26/1988), of Detroit, in connection with the fatal shooting of Samuel Moran, 46, also of Detroit.

On April 3, 2021, at approximately 2:25 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5810 block of Central Avenue in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers located the victim in an alley behind the residence with a gunshot wound to the neck. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. It is alleged that an argument between the defendant and the victim escalated and Defendant Toler fatally shot the victim.

Gabriel Kieshaun Toler has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, one count of Felon in Possession, one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and two counts of Felony Firearm. * He was arraigned yesterday in 36th District Court before Judge Dawn White. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 1, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for July 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King.
