Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Timothy Morgan, 68, of Detroit in connection with the fatal stabbing of his wife, Kathryn Morgan, 67.

On May 4, 2025, at approximately 4:31 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 18400 block of Conley Street for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim in the living room of the home, unresponsive, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the back and to the head. Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced Mrs. Morgan deceased.

It is alleged that the defendant stabbed the victim multiple times with a plastic sword, before striking her in the head with a pair of pliers, fatally wounding Mrs. Morgan. Defendant Morgan turned himself into the 11th Precinct of the Detroit Police Department a short time later.

Timothy Morgan has been charged with First-Degree Murder.*

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this afternoon in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 16, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 22, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., before Judge Shawn Jacque.
