On March 25, 2022, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Shedrica Odessa Smith, 31, (DOB: 02/05/1991), of Detroit, in connection with the homicide of Tiffany Watson, 41, also of Detroit.

On March 20, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 15760 block of Manning Street in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim lying in the street, unresponsive,with tire marks around her body. Medics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

It is alleged that during a physical altercation, Defendant Smith got into a vehicle, started driving, and struck the victim before fleeing the scene. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on March 25, 2022.

Shedrica Odessa Smith has been charged with one count of First-Degree Murder, and one count of Assault with Intent to Murder. *

She was arraigned and remanded to jail yesterday in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for April 4, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for April 11, 2022, at 1:45 p.m. before Judge Kenneth King.
