Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Alisha Caver, 56, of Detroit, in connection with the non-fatal stabbing of her two-year-old grandson.

On October 20, 2022, at approximately 1:39 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5200 block of Chrysler Drive for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers observed the victim bleeding from the right side of his head. Medics arrived on scene and transported the child to a local hospital for treatment.

It is alleged that Defendant Caver stabbed the child multiple times in the head with a knife, non-fatally injuring him.

Alisha Caver has been charged with Child Abuse First-Degree, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, and Felonious Assault. *

She was arraigned today in 36th District Court and given a $10,000 cash/surety bond and a no contact order with the victim. A bond redetermination hearing has been scheduled for October 26, 2022, before Judge Kenneth King. The Probable Cause Conference is on October 31, 2022, and the Preliminary Examination is on November 7, 2022, before Judge King.
