Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Antonio Lee Cotton, 34, (DOB: 04/03/1987), of Grosse Pointe, in connection with the armed robbery and sexual assault of a 43-year-old woman and a 56year-old woman. Both women were employees of a dollar store.

On November 30, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to a dollar store in the 20430 block of Van Dyke in Detroit in response to a 911 call. Upon arrival, officers were directed to the victims. It is alleged that Defendant Cotton entered the store to as a customer, pulled out a handgun, robbed and sexually assaulted the victims, and fled from the scene.

Antonio Lee Cotton has been charged with two counts of Torture, two counts of Kidnapping, two counts of Armed Robbery, 11 counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, six counts of Felonious Assault, one count of Felon in Possession, and 24 counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned and remanded to jail this morning in 36th District Court. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for July 13, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.
