Three Men Charged in Eastland Mall Fatal Shooting

Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Brendon Stanton-Lipscomb, 18 (DOB: 6/14/97), Demetrius Armour, 17 (DOB: 3/5/98), and Tyshon Taylor, 17 (DOB: 3/9/98), all of Detroit, in connection with a fatal a shooting at Eastland Mall. On December 26, 2015 at approximately 5:52 p.m., it is alleged that Defendant Stanton-Lipscomb, while aided by Armour and Taylor, fatally shot Tyrell Lane, 17, of Eastpointe, as he was leaving the Burlington Coat Factory store. It is also alleged that the three defendants assaulted two others teens who were at the mall. More complete facts will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination.

The three defendants have each been charged with First Degree Murder and two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder. Defendant Stanton-Lipscomb has also been charged with Felony Firearm. They were arraigned today and remanded to jail. Their probable cause conferences will be held on January 13, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. and their preliminary examinations will be held on January 20, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at 32-A District Court in Harper Woods.
