Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Jasmine Tiarra-Marshall Ansley, 25, (DOB: 02/03/1991), of Oak Park, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed Erica Yancey, 38, and Brittany Jones, 28, both of Detroit.

On October 16, 2021, at approximately 1:57 a.m., it is alleged that the defendant was driving southbound on Schaefer in Detroit at a high rate of speed before fatally striking the victims and fleeing the scene. It is alleged that after the crash the defendant drove to a nearby gas station and was observed removing items from the car. Medics and members of the Detroit Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the victims to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to the arrest of the defendant on October 18, 2021.

Jasmine Tiarra-Marshall Ansley has been charged with two counts of Failure to Stop at a Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death and one count of Tampering with Evidence. *

She was arraigned on October 19, 2021 in 36th District Court and given a $10,000/10% bond. She was also ordered to not drive. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for November 2, 2021 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for November 9, 2021 in 36th District Court before Judge Patricia Jefferson.
