Romulus Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Girlfriend
On August 7, 2021, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Romulus police officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 8200 block of Merriman Road in Romulus for report of a bleeding male and possibly dead female. Upon arrival, officers located the victim inside the hotel room with multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
It is alleged that an argument between the defendant and the victim escalated and Defendant McCarren fatally stabbed the victim multiple times.
On August 12, 2021, Michael David McCarren was charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder. * He was arraigned and remanded to jail on August 13, 2021 in 34th District Court before Judge Lisa Martin. His Probable Cause Conference is on August 25, 2021 8/25 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Brian Oakley. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Romulus Police Department after the arraignment.
