On March 29, 2022, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Joshua Deante Brown-McClure, 24, (DOB: 11/23/1997), of Trenton, Michigan, in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Detroit man.

On March 27, 2022, at approximately 8:07 a.m., Detroit police officers were dispatched to an apartment building in the 110 block of Cadillac Square in Detroit for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside the lobby of the building suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper right arm and his abdomen. Medics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The defendant was arrested at the scene.

It is alleged that a physical altercation inside the apartment unit between Defendant BrownMcClure and the victim escalated, and a handgun was fired, non-fatally wounding the victim.

Joshua Deante Brown-McClure has been charged with one count of Assault with Intent to Murder, one count of Felonious Assault, and two counts of Felony Firearm. *

He was arraigned on May 8, 2022, in 36th District Court and given a $100,000/10% bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 18, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 25, 2022, at 8:45 a.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
