On Monday March 18, 2019, over 70 taxpayers attended the Commissioner Monique Baker McCormick, Wayne County Commission District 6- Community Forum event. As the keynote speaker, Treasurer Eric Sabree discussed foreclosure prevention tips, how to get enrolled into payment plans, and explained details about the Homeowners Property Tax Assistance Program (HPTAP). The HPTAP is available to residents of the city of Detroit and offers an opportunity for taxpayers to receive a partial or full exemption from property taxes based on meeting specific income qualifications.
